I don't know, It's a solid counter-doctrine (and one I like very much), but I feel like most of its potential is wasted in 1v1 games. Medieval Europe is extremely confusing, yes. As I pointed out, okw is one of the factions that often look at single abilities and in this case its the mines that make this doctrine so strong. I'm not denying that there are other good commanders, which I do mention, but the ones listed above is the one that stand out competetively, being that they're simply more often better choices than the other ones as they become relevant in a larger variety of games. I honestly think the shock rifle frontline commander is the best soviet doc by a bit, is2 and camo at guns are very good kv8 and shock troops are very good and the new flame weapons incendiary arty is excellent. Along with the Americans, they invade Europe on and after D-Day 1944, to liberate it from the Nazi occupation. It also gives access to a clown- car, that can drop stronger LMG's for your infantry sections which you can buff with the "Hold the line!" It's not totally uncommon for this faction to not ever pick a commander either, as it's common for the doctrines to be counter measures for different tactics. To be technical I didn't actually "forget" anything, as this is a list of premium commanders which I'd pick to recommend for people. soviet is the same as wher in the case of commanders, how they all are good aside from a few that are situational. platform with COH2 and its standalone expansions. Compared to Elite troops this one does provide off- map air support, and it does have the "Tactical movement" ability, which can make your forces catch up to a retreating unit in order to wipe or snare it with their fausts.
